Perla Hudson, the former spouse of Slash from the iconic rock band Guns N' Roses, has made a poignant appeal to the court, requesting a lenient sentence for Jasveen Sangha, who supplied ketamine involved in the tragic overdose death of actor Matthew Perry in a hot tub two years ago.
In her two-page letter, Hudson describes Sangha, who has been dubbed the "Ketamine Queen" by prosecutors, as a steadfast friend and an invaluable source of support during Hudson's challenging divorce. Sangha pleaded guilty to the charges last September and is facing sentencing on April 8.
Currently, prosecutors are recommending a 15-year prison sentence, along with three years of supervised release, while Sangha seeks to serve only the time she has already spent in custody, highlighting her status as a first-time offender following her arrest in August 2024.
Hudson characterizes Sangha as an educated and family-oriented individual who has been involved in various family functions over the years. She recalls fond memories of Sangha’s kindness, particularly during her own tumultuous divorce, and underscores Sangha's generosity and commitment to family values.
Furthermore, Hudson mentions their joint efforts to support a non-profit organization called BuildOn, which aimed to facilitate trips for humanitarian projects that ultimately did not materialize due to a range of factors, including Sangha’s legal issues.
In her appeal, Hudson expresses her belief in Sangha’s character, urging the court to consider the positive influence she has had on those in her circle. Hudson stresses that Sangha does not pose a threat to society and possesses the potential to make meaningful contributions if granted a second chance.
Matthew Perry, widely recognized for his role on the television series Friends, sadly passed away on October 28, 2023, attributed to the immediate effects of ketamine. Prosecutors disclosed that Sangha sold multiple vials of the substance to Perry, which significantly contributed to the circumstances surrounding his death. In the aftermath, she reportedly directed her associates to erase communications linked to the drug transactions, further complicating her legal situation.
As this case progresses, Sangha faces substantial legal consequences, while Hudson's request for leniency brings to light the intricate intersections of friendship, addiction, and the impacts of substance abuse within the entertainment realm.
