LOS ANGELES -- Puka Nacua, the wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams, has entered rehabilitation, as confirmed by his attorney, Levi McCathern, in an interview with The California Post on Wednesday.

The decision to seek treatment follows a civil lawsuit filed last month against Nacua by a woman in Los Angeles. The lawsuit alleges that he made an "unprovoked antisemitic statement" on New Year's Eve and subsequently bit her on the shoulder.

McCathern elaborated, stating, "He was in rehab a substantial period of time before any of these allegations broke ... and he's scheduled to be there for a while longer," as reported to The California Post.

The lawsuit against Nacua outlines claims of gender violence, assault and battery, and negligence. Last month, McCathern shared a statement with ABC News, emphasizing that Nacua vehemently denies the claims made in the lawsuit "in the strongest possible terms," and asserts that he possesses video evidence that "underscores" the notion that the plaintiff's "behavior and actions are inconsistent with the allegations."
