Ella Langley has successfully transformed her captivating single “Choosin’ Texas” into a compelling visual narrative. On Wednesday, the talented singer-songwriter premiered the music video for her poignant hometown heartache track, featuring Langley alongside Luke Grimes and Ava Phillippe, with notable appearances by Miranda Lambert and Kaitlin Butts.

The cinematic video, filmed in Fort Worth, Texas, at the iconic Stagecoach Ballroom, begins with Langley and Grimes portraying a couple on a drive to Abilene, Texas. Upon their arrival, Langley inquires, “You ever wish you didn’t leave Texas?” Grimes responds with a thoughtful “sometimes,” before adding, “then I wouldn’t have met you.”

As the couple enters his former local hangout for a drink, the narrative of past relationships unfolds, interspersed with scenes of a solo Langley performing the song while couples dance in a two-step rhythm around her. The plot thickens when Grimes encounters his Texas ex (Phillippe), during which her friend (Butts) cautions Langley that “Texas has a way of keeping what’s hers.” The story takes an emotional turn when a heartbroken Langley realizes he is prioritizing his hometown; she then catches a ride back to Tennessee with none other than Lambert, who portrays the frontwoman of the band.

The video further includes cameos from numerous familiar faces, such as Dale Brisby, JB Mauney, Shad Mayfield, Tyson Durfey, Shea Fisher Durfey, Leighton Berry, Casey Donahew, Tanner Usrey, Wade Bowen, and Mike Ryan, as well as the members of Texas A&M’s Aggie Wranglers dance team.

Looking ahead, Langley is scheduled to perform at this year’s CMA Fest, which will be held in Nashville’s Nissan Stadium from June 4 to June 7. The impressive lineup features appearances from Bailey Zimmerman, Ella Langley, Shaboozey, Riley Green, Keith Urban, the Band Perry, Stephen Wilson Jr., and many others.
