The First Orient Express Yacht Is Officially Setting Sail

After establishing itself as the pinnacle of luxury rail travel for 140 years, Orient Express is embarking on a new maritime adventure with the launch of the Orient Express Corinthian, an extraordinary sailing yacht that redefines ocean luxury.

The vessel will commence its maiden voyage in early May, charting a course through the Mediterranean and Adriatic seas before making a transatlantic crossing to reach Caribbean waters for the winter season.

Revolutionary Technology

The Orient Express Corinthian represents a groundbreaking achievement in sustainable luxury maritime travel, becoming the world's first luxury yacht to incorporate SolidSail technology. This innovative system significantly reduces the vessel's environmental impact while maintaining the highest standards of comfort and elegance.

Laurent Castaing, CEO of the renowned French shipyard Chantiers de l'Atlantique, emphasized the technological significance of this achievement: "For more than 160 years, Chantiers de l'Atlantique has been building ships that define their era. Orient Express Corinthian is the latest proof of this: 720 feet, 15,000 tonnes carried by the wind, three SolidSail sails… the fruit of 10 years of research and development. It is a concrete, technical response to the decarbonization challenges facing maritime transport."

World's Longest Sailing Yacht

Measuring over 700 feet in length, this "floating sanctuary of refinement" holds the distinction of being the world's longest sailing yacht. The vessel accommodates guests in 54 meticulously designed suites, each offering panoramic sea views as it glides through Mediterranean waters.

Dining and Amenities

The culinary experience aboard the Corinthian is orchestrated by Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno, who oversees multiple dining venues throughout the yacht. The main restaurants, La Table and La Terrasse, feature abundant natural lighting and sophisticated Art Deco design elements that create an atmosphere of relaxed elegance.

For more casual refreshments, guests can visit L'Encre, an elegant oyster and Champagne bar that provides stunning ocean vistas alongside light fare. The wellness experience is equally impressive, with a comprehensive spa facility by Guerlain and a full-service hair salon, offering guests the ultimate in relaxation and pampering.

Future Plans

Orient Express has already announced plans for expansion of their maritime fleet with the Orient Express Olympian, a sister vessel currently under construction. The Olympian is scheduled to begin service in 2027 and is presently undergoing final fitting and preparations.
