Meta says its business AI now facilitates 10 million conversations a week
While Meta may not dominate headlines in discussions of leading AI products, the company's artificial intelligence initiatives are demonstrating remarkable growth amid the broader industry expansion. During its first-quarter conference call on Wednesday, Meta revealed that its business AI tools now facilitate approximately 10 million conversations per week as of late March, representing a significant increase from just 1 million conversations at the beginning of the year.
This substantial growth trajectory coincides with Meta's recent expansion of its business AI assistant beta program across multiple regions, including the United States, EMEA, APAC, and LATAM markets.
Currently, Meta maintains a strategic approach of offering its business AI tools at no cost to small businesses as it focuses on achieving scale. However, CEO Mark Zuckerberg indicated during the earnings call that the company is considering future monetization opportunities.
"Business AIs today are currently free for most businesses on our messaging apps, but as we make more progress, we expect that we will also work towards establishing a longer-term monetization model," Zuckerberg stated.
The company continues to integrate AI capabilities throughout its comprehensive business product ecosystem across its various platforms. These initiatives are powered by Muse Spark, Meta's new large language model and the first release from the Meta Superintelligence Labs division established in the previous year.
Meta reported strong performance for its creative AI tools during the quarter. CFO Susan Li highlighted the impressive adoption metrics, noting that "more than 8 million advertisers are using at least one of our GenAI ad creative tools, with particularly strong adoption among small and medium-sized businesses."
The tools are delivering measurable performance improvements, with Li reporting that "advertisers using our video generation feature are seeing more than 3% higher conversion rates in tests."
To further enhance its AI offerings, Meta is launching the open beta of Meta Ads AI Connectors this week. This new feature will enable advertisers to connect their Meta advertising accounts directly to AI agents, streamlining campaign management and optimization processes.
