Title: US Demands Iran Accept Defeat or Face Greater Consequences

The United States has issued a clear ultimatum to Iran: accept defeat in the ongoing conflict or face intensified repercussions. The recent escalation of hostilities includes Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon, with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu announcing the establishment of a 'buffer zone.' Additionally, reports confirm tragic fatalities in Abu Dhabi due to debris collapse.

My heartfelt condolences extend to the Iranian populace, who are caught in a complex emotional landscape. Many aspire for freedom and dignity but are also cautious of the history of Western imperial involvement, particularly in their own nation.

The Iranian citizens who have taken to the streets in recent years have not sought to replace one form of oppression with another. Instead, they have called for an end to all forms of subjugation, without desiring another chapter of dominance imposed by Western powers. Their quest for change is rooted in a genuine desire for liberation, not a mere exchange of one controlling force for another.

History serves as a lesson that the assurances of freedom extended by Western nations often go unfulfilled. This is primarily because the genuine freedom of other nations is seldom prioritized by Western agendas, regardless of public declarations. Such imperialism is not driven by a desire for liberation but rather by the pursuit of control, authority, and profit.

On March 4, amidst the chaos of bombings in Tehran, Mohamad Maljoo, an Iranian dissident, managed to connect to the internet. He conveyed through his Telegram channel: "Those who claim that one can rain fire on the body of Iran in the name of striking the Islamic Republic while imagining that the people will remain unharmed either do not understand the reality of war or deliberately choose to ignore it. Bombs do not discriminate. Destruction does not operate selectively."

As a Palestinian, I resonate deeply with the sentiments expressed in these words. We, Palestinians, intimately understand the horrors of war. We know the visceral impacts of explosive violence, the grief of lost children, and the lasting despair that night brings as flames consume our homes. From the 1948 Nakba to the ongoing Ibadah, we have endured the pains of genocide across generations.

The U.S.-Israel hostility towards Iran began with an egregious assault on a school. UNICEF reported an alarming statistic: an average classroom of children lost their lives every day for two years in Gaza; 432 out of 564 schools in the Strip were directly struck by the Israeli military. The Shajareh Tayyebeh, a girls’ elementary school in Minab, southern Iran, was similarly targeted. On February 28, two U.S.-made Tomahawk missiles resulted in the deaths of approximately 170 young girls aged six to twelve, alongside their educators.

In the immediate aftermath of that initial strike, teachers hurried to shield the students, while paramedics raced to provide assistance to the injured. Tragically, a second bomb detonated, exemplifying a brutal tactic of modern warfare known as the double-tap strike, which aims to kill both the intended targets and those who rush to their aid.

Over the past three weeks, Israel and the United States have focused their assaults on civilian infrastructure throughout Iran, including schools, hospitals, sports complexes, stadiums, stores, cafes, marketplaces, and historic landmarks. More than 5,000 residential units have been impacted, resulting in over 1,900 civilian casualties. The intent appears not only to inflict physical destruction but also to instill widespread fear and terror. The targeting of civilian infrastructure contravenes international law, yet the U.S. and Israel persist in disregarding these legal standards.

Moreover, a recent pronouncement by Israel's Finance Minister ominously suggested future destruction models based on the devastation witnessed in Khan Younis. The tactics observed in Gaza are now extending their reach to Lebanon and, subsequently, to Iran. The overarching objective is to solidify Israeli dominance within the region.
