Noah Kahan's Documentary 'Out of Body' Set to Premiere on Netflix

Noah Kahan confronts the challenge of following up his monumental success, "Stick Season," in the newly released trailer for Noah Kahan: Out of Body, which is slated to premiere on April 13 on Netflix.

Directed by Nick Sweeney, the trailer opens with Kahan being queried about his post-performance routine on his phone. He wittily replies, stating, "Occasionally I’ll check Twitter, see what the response to the show was. If it’s not good, I barricade myself in my room and order Taco Bell. And if it’s good, I barricade myself in my room with Taco Bell."

Throughout the trailer, Kahan reveals that he was "close to giving up music" prior to achieving breakout success with “Stick Season,” a project crafted in his rural Vermont home. As he gears up for the release of his follow-up record this year, he candidly discusses his complex feelings, mentioning, "I know that I’m most happy when I’m home and when I’m making music... but I have to be in my mom’s house, struggling or in pain to make music."

Initially announced last summer, the film had its premiere earlier this month at the 2026 SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas, where it won the prestigious 24 Beats Per Second Audience Award. Kahan expressed his apprehension regarding the project, recognizing its deeply personal nature and the challenging memories it revisits. He underscored the significance of sharing such difficult experiences, hoping to create a connection with others.

In addition to the documentary, Kahan has unveiled plans for his fourth album, The Great Divide, scheduled for release on April 24 via Mercury Records. The title track of this album was released in January, followed by the single “Porch Light” on March 13. This track, a collaboration with Aaron Dessner, was recorded at Long Pond Studio in New York and Gold Pacific Studios in Nashville, reflecting Kahan's evolving artistic journey.
