Martin Shkreli has made headlines once again, and this time, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is taking a stand.

On Tuesday, the FTC, alongside seven states, requested that a federal court hold Shkreli in contempt for "flagrantly and repeatedly" violating a court order that prohibits him from engaging in activities within the pharmaceutical industry.

Shkreli, widely identified as "pharma bro" during the 2010s, gained notoriety for his unapologetic defense surrounding his infamous decision to raise the price of the anti-parasitic medication daraprim by an astonishing 5,000%. In 2018, he was sentenced to seven years in prison for defrauding investors. Upon his release in 2022, a court ordered him to refrain from working in the drug industry indefinitely, citing his previous unlawful attempts to obstruct generic competition for daraprim.
